This has happened late this night as robbers invaded the Umurenge SACCO in Kigali sector and killed the security keeper who was watching over the financial institution. Apart from killing the security keeper, the wrongdoers didn’t manage to rob the institution.
According to our informants, the robbers have tied arms of the security keepers and put them in a separate chamber before trying to rob the institution but in vain.
After attempted deeds to stop the robbers, one of the security keepers called Kassim Nsengiyumva was killed while his colleague was severely injured.
The executive secretary of the Kigali sector Emmanuel Dusabeyezu told Umuseke reporter that the thieves found that the box in which the money was stored was hard to break and have fled as neighbors got closer to them.
Meanwhile the Rwanda National Police and local government officials are conducting a systematic hunt of the thieves.
