Kigali –The prosecution uttered that the Rwandan terror suspects who appeared in the court today  are physically and intellectually mature to get tried in the court for their alleged involvement into terror acts.

Most of them are said to be mature enough to face justice

Formerly, there was a controversy over their ages as some claimed that there were many minors to be face justice. The prosecution has convinced the court that the first hand information gathered from the National ID Agency (NIDA) affirm that only four among the suspects are minor.

One of the prosecution team members said that whoever claims information gathered from the NIDA is a forgery is allowed to consult varying documented sources from health centers and in other institutions.

All the accused ones expressed their willingness to be tried in a plenary session as to allow all eyewitness the trial.

They all expect to help all the common people learn on how the trial was conducted.

Laywer Kayitare said that the upmost importance is to receive justice and in accordance with the law.

However, he warned that holding a trial of children in a court normally reserved for mature people is illegal.

He thereafter added that the court is entrusted to conduct a trial that is beyond its legal abilities.

He, alongside his colleagues, reminded the court that there is a specialized court for children.

Only four children are documented to be suspect depending on the date of the commission of the alleged crime.

One of the defense team members, however, claimed that the prosecution can allocate an age to someone as to convince the court about one’s guiltiness.

The court said it will conclude on this matter on April, 23, 2017.

Only four of them were reported to be minors
