As many experts in technology gather in Kigali in the Transform Africa Summit 2015 to express their views on the current technological advancement in Africa, they agree on the fact the continent advanced in the field even though some challenges are still hindering its fast pace.

Some of these challenges involve the lack working skills, technology related infrastructures and investment.

However, the technology area has undergone remarkable positive changes in Africa globally in Rwanda particularly.

This year’s Transform Africa Summit is attended by 2500 people from 80 countries across the globe.
Rwandan Prime Anastase Murekezi who officially has opened the Summit said that technology has felicitated the investment, job creation and service quality, both in private and public areas.

As matter of interest, PM Murekezi underlined that technology contributes to the economic growth of Rwanda through its use in different areas such as money transfer services, among other fields.

Even though at least 600 million of Africans use mobile technologies such as mobile phones, only 30 per cent do have regular internet connectivity.

This lack of permanent internet connectivity results from  different issues such as its high price, the high price of technological tools and related infrastructures and, lastly, poor or lack of technical skills to handle that tools.

Experts gathered in the Transform Africa Summit agree on the fact that these challenges can be eased by a systematic and consistent investment in the field.
