This was uttered in a handover ceremony that took place yesterday  between the outgoing and incoming executive committees of EWSA.  The former EWSA has been divided into two separate  entities namely  “Rwanda Energy Group (REG)”  and  “Water and Sanitation Corporation (WSC)” as to make it  more  productive.

The newly executive staff  members said that the task ahead  is huge but it will be overcame through the application of new and effective measures setup in order to readjust the bad managerial situation that prevailed in the former EWSA.

The president of the WSC, UMUHUMUZA Gisele, affirmed that team working skills will enable the  corporation to achieve its long term goals.

We will keep improving on what has been built previously by the preceding teams, aims being to achieve the big lines  operational goals that the government selected as key for the development of Rwanda, she said.

To his side,  Dr. Musafiri Papias, who is the Chief executive of the Rwanda Energy Group (REG) has shown the long journey towards the achievement of the duties entrusted to the REG.

One of the key goal is to provide 70 per cent of  all Rwandans with electric power supplies, a percentage that is still at 20 per cent currently, according to the existing officially recognized statistics.

Another issue serious issue that requires a quick response is to provide Rwandans with clean water and stop a 43 percentage of water wasting that costs millions of Rwf monthly.

The new committees expressed their inner willingness and commitment to work hard and correct the mistakes and shortcomings that resulted from the management  of the former EWSA.

The PAC, a parliamentary commission in charge of assessment of public funds, has shown that the EWSA has mismanaged the public funds and this brought in a huge loss to the government.

This new two branches are expected to readjust these mismanagement so to avoid the repeated losses that EWSA has realized.
