The Yesterday’s cabinet meeting selected seven experts to be part of the recently set up Constitution Reform Commission. The commission will back the government in revising and reforming the Constitution.
The commission will be headed by Dr Augustin Iyamuremye who leads the National Advisory Council.
Few months ago, the members of parliament have approved legally accepted to reform the Constitution basing on the wishes of the Rwandan people.
The above wishes were about the fact the 101 article defining the term limits that an elected Head of State should not exceed, is bound to be reformed or revised as to allow President Kagame run for another mandate In the Office.
The selected experts will work for four months, revising and re-shaping some of the articles of the Constitution as to make it more harmonious.
After that intensive work, the rest of the population will pronounce its approval or disapproval via a referendum.
Here are the names of the selected legal experts: Dr Iyamuremye Augustin, the President of the Commission, Dr Kayitesi Usta, Vice President, Milenge John, Havugiyaremye Aimable, Uwizeyimana Evode, Mukeshimana Beatha and Bamwine Loyce.
