The retreat will last two weeks and the youth will learn more about both Rwandan  values and the economic development vision that Rwanda has set up to achieve in the near future.

These young Rwandans live in 21 countries . 108 students came from Uganda, 76 came from USA, and  the rest came from different other nations of Asia, Africa, and American continents. All of them expressed  their willingness to learn more and increase their knowledge about the topics.

Most of Rwandans living the foreign countries are exposed to foreign culture and this situation is likely to change their cultural background.

Aime Mugabo from Uganda said that this is a good opportunity to him as he will be learning about his motherland. He added that this knowledge will help him to contract the misconceptions some people have developed about Rwanda.

The Chairperson of the Itorero ry’Iguhugu, Mr Rucagu Boniface urged the youth to be develop that patriotism that is of a great importance in nation building.

Minister of education Dr Vincent Biruta said that the Itorero is a link that brings together people living in Rwanda and the ones living abroad.

He urged them to utilize their knowledge and skills got from foreign universities and develop  their motherland.
