RGB says that this cannot be done as long as the big majority of the civil society organisations are operating in cities while over 70% of Rwandans live in the remote countryside areas.

RGB encourages these organisations to keep on increasing its advocacy about challenges Rwandans are facing even by contacting  Rwandans living in the remote areas of Rwandan territory.

The aim of this one-day workshop is to assess on how close partnership between RGB and civil society can be straightened in order to promote peace and development of Rwandans.

Munyamariza Edouard ,the Spokesperson of the Umbrella for civil society organisations said that not all civil society organisations work in Kigali rather all depends on the guidelines and objectives of each organisation. Some are in cities while others are in the rural areas.

He thanked the initiative of RGB to hold such a workshop to sharpen their intentions to advocate for people’s concerns and wishes.

One of the Rwandans who attended the workshop told Umuseke reporter  that people do hear about press releases of the civil society but don’t really understand what civil society aims at.

We want civil society to get around us and tell us what are their intentions so that we can speak out about.
