In his speech President Kagame focused on the quick and sustainable development Rwanda has achieved in the recent years. H.E Paul Kagame said that this development is a result of hard work of Rwandans with the collaboration of  its development partners.

President Kagame underlined the resolute commitment Rwandans had  to build the nation after the 1994 Genocide  against the Tutsi  while the international community left the nation to its own and people around the world thought Rwanda could not recover from the tragedy.

H.E Kagame explained that through its willingness to discover home grown solutions to its problems, Rwanda has been able to judge its citizens were suspected to have committed the Genocide by setting up  a people- based juridical system called Gacaca.

Gacaca system has helped in judging many suspects using limited  financial means and within a very short time comparatively to what it could have taken otherwise.

President Kagame stated the firm willingness of Rwandans to keep developing the nation and be an exemplary nation to the rest of the world.
