In his speech to the UN General assembly that took place yesterday, The Head of State Paul Kagame said that the international community is meant to increase its cooperation efforts if it is to reach the Millennium goals.

He appreciated the achievements made in the past years in different areas of social and economic transformation. The President Kagame said that the international community is currently concerned with different crises observable in different corners of the world.
At the other side, the Head of state called upon the international community to increase its efforts to stop and eradicate these deadly crises that hinder the efforts to achieve the millennium goals from being materialize.

President Kagame said that one of the solutions to these crises is to build and strengthen effective leadership that provides citizens with the feeling of safety and this takes time to materialize.

For him, this kind of leadership is a product of each sovereign nation and should be respected and sustained by the International community so that it may last and produce more positive results.

Talking about Rwanda, President Kagame told the UN assembly that the country chose to safeguard its citizens through the establishment of democratic policies where public authorities are held responsible and accountable, basing on their duties.

The Head of state said that Rwandans have built a new nation where dignity and self-reliance are upheld and characteristic of its inhabitants.

President Kagame said that Rwandans are committed to build and sustain strong institutions as to eradicate the poverty among its citizens.

The Head of state told the UN assembly that the role of Rwanda is not only to help in crisis resolution efforts but also to ensure that these crises are not to happen through a sustained  international cooperation.
