During the dry season Nyamirambo undergoes a serious problem of water shortage. But this time ,the problem has gone wilder at an extent that one can  of water is  worthy 500 Frw .The problem is mostly faced by Kivugiza,Rwampala ,Rugarama and Rwarutabura cells.

Rwarutabura Well is facing a serious water shortage

In Rwarutabura cell, inhabitants say that the problem is very serious and that it is not the first time for  them to endure such crisis .

This cell is located  300 meters far from the Rugarama Cell Office. The thing is that local people are getting seriously  thirsty due to the lack of enough and clean water .

A certain Niyonshuti Yannick told Umuseke that local people use the a nearby dam that provides very dirty water.

“It is now two weeks that we don’t receive EWSA’ water. So that is why we are here to fetch water in this unclean well” Niyonshuti told Umuseke reporter this Saturday

.Antoinette Nyirakariwabo, residing in Itetero Cell confirms that.She says: “Even in the dam, we fight for water because everyone wants to fetch first. It is really a serious problem we endure”.

The Executive Secretary of Nkurunziza Alexis agrees that water shortage is a real problem that is general even for other cells comprising the Nyamirambo Sector.

He points out that the problem is under the EWSA responsibility thus the local leaders are powerless towards the situation .However he said that the advocacy is the only possible thing they are likely to do further.

EWSA spokesperson told Umuseke the administration of EWSA is searching to provide a lasting solution to the problem through establishing a water network that pumps water from neighboring water fountains.

Rutagungira in charge of Water sanitation in EWSA stated that this project will be carried with the rehabilitation of a dam  that  we were talking about above.
