People living in Nyagatare district urge the authorities to set up an insurance fund to support the mothers who newly have given birth to babes and let the  mothers receive the full amount of the salary while they resting after giving birth.

They say that this will reduce the fate caused by the fact that when mothers live their homes and return back to work early, this negatively impact on their lives as well as the wellbeing of the newborns.

At the other side, the Ministry of labor affirms its commitment to set up a policy and a law that will guarantee one hundred per cent of the salary to the mothers.

One of the mothers told UM– USEKE that returning back to work after only six weeks does not help at all as their post natal organs did not well recovered yet.

Mothers keep claiming that they enduring this challenges that likely affect the lives of their babes.

One official from the Ministry of labor Ruzindana Paul said that a law defining the conditions under which mothers will be enjoying their motherly rest is soon to be set up and published in the national gazette.

It is in this regard that the Ministry of labor planned elections to for the workers to select their representatives who will explain to them the legal ways to defend their rights as workers.

These elections are scheduled to take place late March, 2015.
