According to  our reporter stationed at the bridge  over the Nyabugogo river separating Kigali city and the South  Province, heavy rain that started since Saturday has made it over-flooded and therefore breaking  road communication  between both sides.

The water surpassed the boundaries and invaded the road

A long queue of cars are in wait until water reduces in volume  so to be able to cross the road.

Some places of Kigali were watered by the rain especially in Bumbogo, Jali,  Gisozi and Gatsata, among ‘other  isolated places’.

Similar heavy rain rained in Gakenke district thus increasing the volume of  Nyabugogo water. This accumulated water made the river Nyabugogo over- flooded especially at its side neighboring Kigali city.

One of the sugar cane farmers in Nyabugogo valley told Umuseke that he saw the water invading his fields as the rain intensified.

The Nyabarongo river at its side increased its water volume too, complicating normal communication.

Meanwhile the Rwanda National Police suspended all the travels using the Nyabugogo road as to avoid deadly incidents.

Few steps ahead of the Nyabarongo bridge, moody water has overstepped the main boundaries of the road.
