The commission informs that voting process will last for two months long as to fulfill the vacant posts in the 30 districts of Rwanda that do lack mayors.

The executive secretary in the National Election Commission, Charles Munyaneza revealed to the national radio station that elections procedures undergo final preparations.

The first elections will be held on February and will be concerned with the vote of the members of the Executive committee at the cell level.

At the very day there will be other elections for women who have to occupy 30 per cent of the whole team.

Different other elections such as the ones that concern the members of the National Youth Council and the ones of the National Commission of People with Disabilities will be held as well.

Munyanzeza informs that the elections will be attended by all people who will be 18 years old.

“People will be standing behind a candidate of their choice,” he said.

He called upon all Rwandans who are 18 years old to attend those forthcoming elections as one of the opportunity to elect effective leaders they deserve and in a democratic way.

Munyaneza reminded the willing candidates to present their candidatures between 05 and 15, January this year.

According to the law governing these elections, the candidate must be originating from the district he/she intends to govern.
