Gasabo – the elderly Nayinzira Jean Nepomscene who attempted to become the elected President of the Republic in 2003 died at the age of 70 years old due to a lasting illness.
According to some of his neighbors the man has died due to a serious sickness he has been suffering for a longtime.
One of them said the elder was hospitalized in the Rwanda Military Hospital and passed away in the same hospital.
Nayinzira was born in the former Gisenyi prefecture in 1943. He has been part of the yahoze MRND political party before setting up his own one in 1991.
One of his neighbors expressed his sorrow feeling about the death of the elder Nayinzira who was provided wise and up-builing thoughts and insights.
Nayinzira was 70 years old and lived in Kinyaga cell, Bumbogo sector, in Gasabo district. He has occupied the Ministry’s post of trade.
Currently he has embraced a religious activities where he preached the message he claimed he received from Mary the Virgin.
He used to predict one’s future through reading in one’s arm.
He owned numerous houses in Izindiro area and in-dwellers were proud to rent his houses as he never harrashed them to pay the rent.
In 1991, he created an opposition party, PDC( Parti Democrate Chretien) . After 1994 the genocide against the Tutsi, he entered the cabinet, from where he became members of the parliament.
He has been appointed as the President of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission.
He has been suspected to have unfair behaviors. This has caused him to resign from his post as a politician. He resettled from Remera to Izindiro where he lived until he died last night.
In the presidential election of 2003, Nayinzira had 1.33 per cent from 49 634.
