Today, Lawyer Emmanuel Butare told reporters that the Umubano Hotel is to be sold due to the rise of misunderstandings between its owners. The shareholders who managed the hotel were the Government of Rwanda and Libyan businessmen.
He revealed to reporters that after the dissolution of the SOPROTEL, it is necessary to put the market as to find new partners to refuel the activities of the Hotel.
Lawyer Butare said the roots of the misunderstanding between shareholders lay on the management of the hotel.
Lawyer Butare said the hotel will keep providing normal services that it was used to provide without interruption. He urged people who will own the hotel to keep providing normal services as done previously.
News say that Libyan entrepreneurs denied to rehabilitate the building of the Hotel, a behavior that discomforted the Government that is a shareholder in the business.
Until now there is no specified financial value of the hotel. The ;Libyans have 60 per cent of shares while the Rwandan government holds 40 per cent.
The tender for this hotel will be effective after all loans it has for its partners are paid and that it recieved back loans from other particulars have towards it.
The Umubano Hotel has started operating in 1979. It is located in Kacyiru, Gasabo District, Kigali City.
