The ceremony was held last week end by Gicumbi district residents for the award they received for their effective 2015-2016 Imihigo performance. The Gicumbi district came second after Gasabo district in better performing the the Imihigo contract.’The celebration laid on the best performance the district has achieved as it has more than twice poorly performed.
The Rwandan Minister of Justice, Johnston Busingye who was the guest of honor urged participants not to underestimate the achievement and recall them to step ahead and remain firm in best performing.
Min Busingye told that the past poor performances should be important reminders for them to keep performing better.
Commitment and courage are the keys to sustain the success Gicumbi district is proud of, he told them.
Busingye however told Gicumbi district officials to keep fighting the flow of illicit drugs smuggled from Uganda as they negatively impact on people’s lives.
As the ceremony kept up, best performing sectors of the distrcit were revealed and awarded. Remember that Gicumbi has more sectors than the rest of districts of Rwanda with 21 sectors that it owns.
Mutete sector was ranked number one and awarded, Kageyo came second, Shangasha came third, Rushaki, Rukomo came next respectively.
Cyumba sector leaders were urged to improve as to become more productive and performing in the fulfillment of this 2016-2017 Imihigo Year.
Gicumbi has more sectors in Rwanda(21 sectors) while Ruhango has fewer sectors(nine sectors).
