The participation of France is seen as step forward in reviving the relationship between France and Rwanda after the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. France has been accused by Rwanda to have backed the perpetrators of the Genocide and hosts some  of the suspects.

Recently  France has started judging one of the suspects namely Simbikangwa who is considered as one of the master minders of the genocide.

Both Rwandan and French troops are closely working to re-establish peace in the  thrown Central African Republic.

Accordion to RFI , French officials and the Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs discussed about the bilateral relations but did not introduce any issue relating to situation reigning in DRC.

In 2010 French President Nicolas Sarkozy visited Rwanda and recognized the inaction of his nation to stop the Genocide against the Tutsi.

He also recognized that France did not play a significant role in rehabilitating the damages left by the genocide.

Currently both France and Rwanda are displaying a remarkably willingness to revive bilateral relations.
