In the today’s meeting that joined the civil society organizations and  journalists, Munyamaliza Edouard who is the Chairperson of the umbrella of the civil society organizations has told  the media that recent monetary package provided by the Rwandan government and its partners will enable the civil society to conduct its operations smoothly.

The amount that is worthy $ 8 million has been reserved by the government of Rwanda with its stakeholders in order has been given to the umbrella of the civil society organisations so to back its activities.

Munyamaliza said that this amount will be of a great importance so to upraise its activities that mostly concern the assessment of the public  administration related activities for the interests of all citizens especially  the most vulnerable ones.

This monetary package has been set for the civil society organisations so to help them achieve its goals in the coming EDPRS II economic reforms throughout which the Government and civil society organisations will collaborate to make it successful.

We will use this money to double our efforts in assessing the government’s operations and to steer up the advocacy for the interests of the population as it is number one mission, Munyamaliza said.

The monetary package will be invested in areas such as the preparations, implementation and assessment of Imihigo contracts.

It will also help in the sensitization about the Mutuelle de Sante medical insurance registration process.

Prof Shyaka Anastase who is the CEO of the Rwanda Governance Board urged the civil society organisations to wisely utilize this package as to reach  the intended objectives.

All willing civil society organisations will present these business plans and be selected as to find out which ones worthy to be given the package.
