Minister Busingye said that Rwandan government has put more efforts on treating cases of genocide suspects as they represented a significant majority of all prisoners.

He said that different measures and mechanisms have been established to treat such cases.

Among these special measures were the Gacaca tribunals, the Abunzi(mediators) among other  useful mechanisms that prove themselves  helpful and beneficial.

Continuing his discussions with media, Min Busingye highlighted the fact that during this Legal Aid Week, more help will be given to the special categories highlighted above.

He said that this choice is based on the fact that they have special cases to treat according to their urgent problems.

The person in charge of justice for children Odette Yankurije told reporters that cases relating to children have been treated in the previous years but more have to be treated during this special week.

She said that not less than 30 cases relating to children will be finalized throughout this week.

The activities of this week will start in Gisagara district, South Province, but will stretch to other districts.

The Ministry of justice announces that 120 dossiers will be treated during this week dedicated to legal aid week.
