Jacques Bihozagara has occupied different political positions in Rwanda as one of the most respected members of the ruling RPF political party. He has been jailed in Mpimba notorious prison of Burundi in which he lost his life.
His death was confirmed by the Rwandan ambassador in Burundi Amandin Rugira and Amb Olivier Nduhungirehe who represents Rwanda in Belgium.
Both ambassadors affirmed that news via twitter.
Late Amb Jacques Bihozagara fulfilled different political duties such as being the minister in charge of refugees.
He was also the Ambassador of Rwanda both in Belgium and in France.
Both Ambassadors did not inform the reason of his death.
Recently on December, 04, 2015, Amb.Bihozagara was arrested in Burundi for the alleged involvement into espionage acts by the Burundian security officials and was jailed in Mpimba prison.
He dead without being brought to justice.
Due to his death, the bilateral relations between Rwanda and Burundi are likely to deteriorate as it was already complicated since last year.
