After nine months of relocation, the residents who are living newly constructed houses in Bugesera started activities such as animal breeding to enhance the quality of their diet and cater for some daily needs.
The umudugudu(cell) where they live is composed of new 62 houses hosting many households.

Even though there are some households that enhanced the living styles, others cry of a a help as they are enduring hunger that resulted from the long lasting sunny season.

The ones who are thankful to the Rwandan government say that the Girinka program has contributed to the live change of their households.

As cows they have been given have offsprings, they provide to their fellow ones as to let them acquire means to increase the productivity.

They also thank all the stakeholders whose contribution has played role in having decent houses to live and initiate living changing activities.

Jean Bosco Havugimana one of the residents said that the first instance, they didn’t have sufficient food supplies but the government, alongside its partners provided needed support.

As the area is getting dry due to the current dry season, some of them urge the government to help them in irrigating the swamps where they cultivate.

However the Rurambi Valley is getting prepared for better seeding and, hopefully, produce more for residents to have  food security that is lasting.

Emmanuel Nsanzumuhire, the Mayor of Bugesera reveals that the poor  agricultural production resulted from the fact that some of locals didn’t cultivate on the due time, or the other side, some didn’t produce due to unfavorable weather.
