While addressing Rwandans living in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, President Paul Kagame told them that developing patriotism is a value that can’t be sold or bought to or from anyone. He advised them to keep nurturing such philosophy that, he said, will keep them proud of themselves and of their nation, Rwanda.

The Head of State said that Rwanda has developed socially and economically in a way that many people are aware of even though there are others who underestimate it.

President Kagame informed Rwandans living abroad that their nation has defined its destiny and urged them to be more involved in its development through investment and the upholding of Rwandans values wherever they are.

He said that this development should be sustained by all Rwandans because more is still needed to be done, he added.

President Kagame said that Rwanda is providing to the world a remarkable image whereby its security stands stable and contributes to both regional and international security re-establishment.

Talking to the regional stability, President Kagame lauded the integration that its five nations have chosen as it keeps helping in finding solutions related to economic, diplomatic and security issues that have been characterizing the region since remote times.

President Kagame said that Rwandan government has signed bilateral agreements with different nations where Rwandans live to keep them safe and Rwanda agreed to secure foreign investors who are in Rwanda for business purposes.

Underling the importance of keeping patriotism up, President Kagame said that while critics said that Rwanda is experiencing poor performance in different aspects of national life, Rwandans should never give up striving for it and upholding it.

In reality, critics are underestimating our positive achievements that should, otherwise, be lauded if they were realistic, President Kagame said.

One of the key achievements that people should be proud of includes unity among Rwandans, he said.

He said that overcoming divisions among Rwandans is an asset that should be considered as important by all people, he added.

The Head of State told his audience that patriotism should characterize their daily behaviors as Rwandans, adding that one can’t buy it therefore they should uphold it with a high esteem.

President Kagame has been in USA throughout this ending week to attend different high level meetings with officials and addressed the Harvard university students on different issues regarding African development at large and the one of Rwanda particularly.
