He said this after making a trip to the Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi where he put the wreaths of flowers in honor of the 1994 genocide victims.

Minister Netanyahu called upon Rwandans to be vigilant in identifying and fighting any rise of genocide ideology and its advocates.

Before holding a joint meeting with reporters, PM Netanyahu and H.E Paul Kagame held a private meeting that focused on issues related to agriculture, water management, transport, tourism and security.

The Israeli Prime Minister expressed his sorrow about the victims of the genocide who were massacred by fellow Rwandans with whom they shared every living means.

He however said that Rwanda is an example on quick and effective recovery after a tragedy such as genocide.

He called Rwanda ‘a successful state’ with decent citizens.

Netanyahu reminded that both 1994 genocide against the Tutsis and the Holocaust occurred due to the propaganda spread by the media.

He therefore called upon the media to be an effective tool in fighting the genocide ideology wherever it may occur.

Talking about his visit to African continent, the Israeli Prime Minister revealed that the raise of African economy is a major factor interests Israel.

For him, Israel and Africa can be effective partners in handling all issues that can hinder Africa from accelerating its social and economic progress.

Israel is also nurturing ties with Africa as to fight the increasing threat of terrorism that is evolving in some of African countries.

Netanyahu concluded his visit to Rwanda this Wednesday afternoon before flying to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
