As he was inaugurating the 27th AU Summit that took place in Kigali, Rwanda this Sunday, President of the African Union and of Chad,  Idris Deby Itno has warned the warring parts in S. Sudan to stop the fighting and search for lasting peace among its citizens.

He reminded them to respect and apply the Addis Abeba peace treaty for the sake of safety of the S.Soudanese.

Idris Deby called upon African leaders to take the future of their nations in the hands and remember that the prosperity of the continent significantly depends on them.

He said that Africans should not rely on other so-called developed countries’ aid, rather, they should be more responsible and accountable for the destiny they wish for their respective countries.

President Deby underlined the fact that cooperation and mutual helpfulness between African nations is the milestone leading to sustainable development.

However he lauded that the paths leading to strong union among nations such as the issurance of the Pan African passport.

Deby thanked the Rwandan President Paul Kagame for the Rwandan contribution to existence and use of the Pan African passport adding that it is one of the indicators that strong African Union is near to achieve.
