At the beginning of this week Rwanda’s first resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Congo, H.E. Ambassador Jean Baptiste Habyarimana presented his letters of Credence to His Excellency, President Denis Sassou N’GUESSO of Republic of Congo at the Presidential Palace, Brazzaville.
He was accompanied to the presentation ceremony by His two second counselors: Wilson Rwigamba and Casimir Nteziryimana.
At the Presidential Palace, the Ambassador was received by the National Director of Protocol Landry Simplice Euloge Ollitta who led him and his team to meet with H.E President Denis Sassou N’Guesso who received and accepted his letters of credence.
While presenting his letters of credence, Ambassador Jean Baptiste Habyarimana conveyed the warm fraternal greetings and good wishes from H.E. President Paul Kagame to H.E President Denis Sassou N’Guesso.
Thereafter, the host President ushered the Ambassador into the VIP salon where he granted him audience.
They discussed issues relating to the promotion of cordial bilateral relations between Rwanda and Congo-Brazzaville.
In his welcome remarks, H.E President Denis Sassou N’Guesso congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as the first Rwandan Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Congo and expressed the belief that the upgrading of the Mission to Ambassadorial level would further bolster relations between our two friendly countries.
In his response, Ambassador Jean Baptiste Habyarimana thanked H.E President Sassou N’Guesso for his thoughtful comments on Rwanda and promised that during his tenure, he would strive to strengthen relations between the two countries in such areas as Trade, Investment, Agribusiness, ICT, security and Politics among others.
