As the association of students’ genocide survivors and their elders who graduated are conducting volunteering activities in different areas of Rwanda, the last week end they headed to Jabana, Gasabo district.

The young people who participated in these activities helped in rehabilitating the house of a local genocide survivor called Sebahutu Saturin and this helped him acquiring a better house to live in.

AERG-GAERG members gave a cow to a mother who needed to nourish children with milk and therefore make them grow healthy.

Stella Muhisoni who was given the cow thanked them. She took that opportunity to advise them not to be self-important and selfish but rather keep their integrity.

The coordinator of the GAERG , Charles Habonimana, said that that the these activities aim at showing to others that they are thankful to God and willing to help others live decently.

The Executive secretary in charge of economic affairs, Mberabahizi Raymond Chretien lauded the well heartedness of those young people for the work they did and urged the rest of Rwandans to imitate them and make Rwanda proud of its youth.

He highlighted that these activities of the AERG-GAERG youth displays a tangible aspect of unity and reconciliation that Rwanda government puts on the top of its politics.

This week-end the AERG-GAERG week activities will be heading to Gisagara district, South Province.
