This Friday 104 Rwandan refugees who fled Rwanda and resided in the DRC for many years ago have repatriated with the help of Rwandan Ministry of refugees and disaster management in collaboration with the HCR.
Arrived in Rwanda, they were hosted at Nkamira transitional camp before being relocated to their former residential areas.

The manager of the Nkamira transitional camp Straton Kamanzi told Umuseke that the management used the finger-print technology to detect their identity and find out whether all of them came back home for the first time.

He said that this was done because some for refugees have previously went back to their exile while they were repatriate earlier. It was done in order to prevent the recounting of some of them who might have come earlier.

Kamanzi said that the repatriated refugees are given different utensils to help them re-integrate and become more socially fit.

The Ministry in charge of refugees and disaster management intends to help the refugees to own the

Mutuelle de Santé as to help them acquire medical assistance at a low cost.

Formally the DRC government declared that 250 000 Rwandan refugees still reside to its soil but observers hesitate to confirm this numbers.
