This Year’s Tour du Rwanda has a particularity as Rwanda will be represented by three teams. Some of the clubs that will participate include Team Dimension Data from Italy, Stradalli – Bike Aid from Germany and other two cycling teams from Rwanda. The Tour du Rwanda 2016 is scheduled to start from 13-20/11, 2016.
The Rwandan Cycling Federation(FERWACY)has announced the calendar of the forthcoming Tour du Rwanda and among 30 teams that requested to participate, only 16 teams have been officially allowed and registered.
These allowed teams include Team Dimension Data that has Adrien Niyonshuti, Valens Ndayisenga and Bonaventure Uwizeyimana.
The Stradalli – Bike Aid from Germany is also part of the ones allowed to compete and it features Rwandan cyclists such as Hadi Janvier and Nsengimana Jean Bosco.
In the previous seven Tour du Rwanda competitions, Team Rwanda was divided into three main teams namely:Team Rwanda Kalisimbi, Team Rwanda Akagera and Team Rwanda Muhabura.
However, this year competition, Rwanda will be represented by three teams. These involve National Team of Rwanda and two other experienced teams: Benediction Club of Rubavu and Les Amis Sportif de Rwamagana.
The FERWACY chief manager Aimable Bayingana lauds the fact that Rwanda will be represented by the above three mentioned teams as it will enhance chances to win this session as it has been the case for past three times.

Five teams from Africa:
- One from South Africa
- One from Ethiopia
- One from Eritrea
- One from Egypt
- One from Algeria
