The new prices have brought frustration to the fuel pump stations in Kigali while to the other hand car drivers rejoice. The prices reduced from 1050 to 1000 RwF per Litter.
This new prices have been set by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
During a interview with Umuseke.rw, Mr Charles Ngarambe, the CEO of Kigali Bus Services, said that the news favorable for their services,
“Currently passengers are few due to economic crisis they face thus this is good news for both passengers and transport service providers” He reflected.
For him however, it is not time to reduce the transport fees. The increase of passengers will tell them whether the reduction of fees is adequate to be taken.
One of motorcyclists told Umuseke.rw that prices reduced due to the fact that mottos are many in Kigali City.
A petrol pump station known as SP Rwanda Remera visited by Umuseke.rw revealed that for them it is a bad news because they still have reserve of fuel in their machines.
“We still have not less than 21 thousand litters of oil to sell at the price of 1050 as previously planned but now that the price has been revisited to 1000, we fear the reserve will cause losses nearing One Million and Fifth Thousands RwF” The Manager of SP Remera told Umuseke.rw reporter.
The RURA Rwanda Utulity Regulation Authority did not express itself on the matter in order to know where this will impact on the transportation fees to get reduced.
