One of the locals who were among the workers to claim for the money said that the businessman agreed with them to carry the bricks from a remote area to the construction site and pay them according to the work done.

In the working agreements, Mbonyimpa promised to the workers to pay them after the District of Ruhango have paid him, accordingly.

At the beginning, the businessman paid them the amount of 500,000 Rwf, promising that the rest of the amount will be provided soon, according to the contract signed with the District officials.

As time went on, the workers asked for the money but the investor told them to hold on, saying that the district did not pay him  the money he deserved.

Rugerinyange  Onesphore  who is the representative of the workers told UM– USEKE  that he found out that the district has paid to  the businessman the  amount of 100 Million Rwf.

Umuseke contacted the businessman Mbonimpa and he said that he was busy at work in Huye District, promising that he will provide more details afterwards.

Surprisingly, the businessman did not call nor provide any details as promised. He said that he cannot provide any detail before being in his office located in Kigali.

The executive secretary of Ruhango district, Kambayire  Annociata  wondered why the businessman did not pay the workers while the district did pay him 113 million Rwf since the beginning of the work.

She said that the district officials will back locals in this struggle to get paid  as soon as possible.

The blank check provided by  Mbonimpa  has a stamp of the Banque Populaire du Rwanda. The locals said that they have got a bank loan and delayed to pay the interests due  to the misbehaviors of the businessman.
