Drivers of small buses wrote a letter to PM Dr Habumuremyi Pierre Celestin showing to him the injustices they face related to the recent decision to not let them work in big streets of Kigali.
Mr Janvier Ndayizeye ,the Public Relations Officer in the Prime Ministry told Umuseke that the letter has reached the Minister’s Office yesterday,September, 17, 2013.
Umuseke asked the Manager of the RFTC Col Twahirwa where they knew the letter was written and brought to PM office.
“The authors of the letter are not working for the RFTC. Contrary to what they wrote, our association is working properly and makes money for the economic advancement of its workers”, Col Twahirwa responds to Umuseke .rw.
Col Twahirwa Ludovic adds that yesterday morning they conducted a check up to find out who composed the letter within RFTC but found none within RFTC .
Reacting to the allegations according which drivers are likely to undergo a serious loss as they bought the cars on bank loan, Col Twahirwa said that this is not true, adding that the current situation brings more benefits to drivers, from 15,000 Rwf to 25,000 RwF.
Those drivers were arrested just after they came from deposing their claims to PM Headquarters at Kimihurura.
Two day ago,a group of university students deposed a similar petition to the PM office, they were arrested too for unlawful manifestation, the Police says.
ACP,the Spokesperson of RNP told Umuseke that law punishes everyone who manifests illegally,adding that there exist legally organised ways to demonstrate one’s wishes or ideas.
