The prisoners from the Muhanga Prison said that the ones who have been sentenced to jail should be given more time to participate into the rehabilitation of what they destroyed.

They said that during an event held at Muhanga to thank the prisoners for their participation of in the rehabilitation of the Byimana School of sciences.

Prisoners expressed their wishes to be more active in rehabilitating the properties they damaged during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.

Ruzigana Emmanuel who heads the Anti-Crime Club in Muhanga prison expressed the willingness of his fellow  prisoners to help the widows and orphans of the 1994 to live in decent houses.

To the other side, Niyitegeka Fred the team manager of personers who innovated the Byimana School of sciences appreciated the job well done  during the innovation of the Byimana School.

We appreciated what we completed as a team of prisoners. Based on what we have done in 1994, we might have been excluded from the society but we have been given chances to improve the society we have destroyed, Niyitegeka said.

The Prison of Muhanga has been paid of 25 million Rwf for the completion of the construction work done by prisoners.

The innovation of the Byimana School is worthy 250 million Rwandans Francs.
