This comes in after news affirm that three journalists fled the nation and those are Ntwali John Williams, Gatera Stanley and Eric Nduwayo to secure their lives that were  endangered, according to them.
Minister Musoni said that the current situation where journalists are fleeing the nation resembles to what has happened in 2004-2005.

At that period, journalists who wanted to pursue their studies in the foreign countries forged rumors that their security was threatened, Min Musoni said.

For the Minister Musoni, journalists in Rwanda are free to express their concerns as the government has  helped them to setting up a self regulatory body which handles every crucial problems journalists encounter.

The code of conduct of the journalists has been set up to regulate the profession. Journalists are free to exercise the profession freely unless they commit a crime beyond the limit of their profession. In this case, they are treated as any other Rwandan, Min Musoni says.

The RMC (Rwanda Media Commission) officials affirm that the fleeing of some of the journalists does not link with the lack of the freedom of the media professionals.

Fred Muvunyi, the CEO of the RMC said he was not informed about the departure of the journalists: Stanley Gatera, the Chief editor of the Umusingi newspaper and Eric Nduwayo from the Isimbi Newspaper.

Recently Gatera has been caught up by the Police being bribed with 300,000 Rwf but the RMC advocated for his  release of the journalist so to let it persecute him.

Fred Muvunyi said “Gatera was safely travelling outside. We were dealing with his case about the bribery but suddenly I heard he fled the nation. Concerning the case of Ntwali Johns Williams, I know that he is in Rwanda. So the news that he fled the Rwanda are baseless, he said.
