She sews bags and other items using Kitenge fashion. Bampire decorates pens with beads and has set up training sessions for women who aspire to embark in this carrier.

The training sessions last for three months, having the purpose of promoting the self employment spirit among Rwandan women.

As confirmed by some of women who attended the training, it sharpened their minds in artistic skills so as to become self-employed.

Jean Nepo Nzayisenga being one her students, said:

I have completed the Bachelor degree in Laboratory studies but I stood up jobless for a while. It means that job applicants are so many and different requirements may be one of the obstacles for getting a job.At first, when I came here for application, I was with my wife. But unfortunately, having found it too far from home, we decided that she had to stay at home and I am the one to teach her what I learnt.

Another internee Placidia Yamuragiye has completed her advanced level in Accountancy. Though she has a driving license, she thereafter decided to acquire art skills on the previous knowledge.

Mariam said that one of the reasons which pushed her to train people was to help people emerge from the unemployment.

She told Umuseke that she dislikes seeing people jobless and provide efforts to help them get out of it.
Bampire says that unemployed parents endure very serious family challenges.

The leader of the Kanyiranganji cell where she lives, John Nzamurambaho said that Mariam plays a remarkable role in promoting business in the village.

“We are glad to be having someone like Mariam in our neighborhood. People are happy for this project of Mariam.” he affirmed.

Mariam is a mother of four children. Her ambition is to work closely with banks so as to expand her projects.
She plans to build decent house to live in with an annexed one to carry out businesses such as advising women.
