On Sunday, the Rwandan President Paul Kagame made a one day state visit to Uganda to discuss with his counterpart Yoweli Museveni, on issues concerning their respective nations. These issues were relating to security, economic projects, among others.

Their discussions also pertained to issues that concern the region including the construction of the railway that is meant to join Kigali to Kampala.

President Kagame’s delegation included the Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs Louise Mushikiwabo, the Intelligence chief, Rwandan Ambassador to Uganda, among others.

The meeting between both Heads of State was cordial and friendly as shown on photos released on their respective social media platforms.

On their joint press conference both Heads of State revealed that their meeting focused on issues of development on the region and, particularly, between both nations.

These issues are linked to the construction of transport infrastructures, security enhancement and intelligence sharing, among others.

President Museveni said that they fully agreed on the improvement of each issue discussed so far.

Regarding the security between Rwanda and Uganda, President Museveni said that there is no security row between neighboring countries, even though he called upon security officials from both nations to improve on the existing security measures through mutual understanding and intelligence sharing.

President Kagame told media that the discussion with his counterpart was thoughtful and fruitful as it resulted into taking adequate measures to handle the issues that concern the region, including Rwanda and Uganda in particular.

According to one of NBS news platform reporters called Mujuni Raymond , Ministers of foreign affairs of both countries agreed to meet in the three coming months and prepare another meeting between boht Heads of State.

The Ugandan leader YoweIi Museveni was invited to visit Rwanda in the coming near future, an invitation that was accepted.

Recently the President Museveni cancelled his attendance to the AU special summit held in Kigali for what Ugandan media called ‘protocol issues’
