His said that during the 19th commemoration of liberation at Kami Military Camp. Rwanda celebrates this day which  coincides with the 51 anniversary its independence as a former Belgian colony.

The event took place at Kami Military camp ,in Kinyinya Sector in Gasabo district .

The assembly was full of inhabitants coming from different corners of the city.

Government senior officials were present to follow the President’ speech among whom we had Prime Minister Dr Pierre Habumuremyi,RDF high commanders. At the international level, we had the Minister of Armed Forces of Burki-Faso Gen.Nabéré Honoré Traoré and many others.

He reminded citizens that liberation means wellbeing that the Liberation was aiming at achieving. He said that this is ideal does a common understand to all Africans who are currently celebrating their 51 anniversary of independences.

“We have common historical features as Africans even if Rwandans do have their own relating to liberation and independence” President Kagame said.

President Kagame said that 4th July has added value to 1st July in as far as full independence is concerned. This is an achievement that binds Rwandan to the duty of becoming fully self-reliant  added His Excellence Kagame.

He stated that our development achievements resulting from liberation are to be safeguarded at any cost.

In his remarks, H.E told the gathering that common citizenship is to be maintained as it is a common value for all Rwandans. President Kagame was accompanied by First Lady Jeannette Kagame.

President Kagame said that Liberation Day  is meant to inserting education and moral values to Rwandan youth. He said that ‘food security is a key in the fulfillment of the meaning of Liberation philosophy’

At the end of His trip to Kami  Military camp, he inaugurated newly agglomerated  houses  located at Kami  to shelter poor families of Gishari cell  in Kinyinya Sector .
