RNP at its headquarters revealed to the public 37 policemen involved into corruption or smuggling issues.
The RNP Spokesperson ACP Damas Gatare told journalists that since May 34 policemen got involved into corruption and were arrested, among whom six are Officers and 28 others are not.
According to the ACP Gatare,those policemen were arrested in different circumstances and getting involved in different corruption issues.
A lot of them were arrested receiving cash from drivers to weaken the financial charges they were asking for as by Policemen or in other similar crimes .
The Spokesperson of Police warned all policemen that this is a long process to punish all police elements who will be caught in corruption issues.
Apart from thanking all Rwandans for their close collaboration, he also encourages them to keep on reporting areas and services where providers ask for corruption.
