As the UN Special Intervention Brigade gets ready to strike over the rebels operating in DRC, Goma people told their concerns about the insecurity.

Goma inhabitants keep doing their business freely despite a soon- to- come war.
Goma inhabitants keep doing their business freely despite a soon- to- come war.

Kambale Justin, a Congolese living in Goma ,Birere neighborhood, told Umuseke that whatever happens, negative effects befall them.

“I saw heavy weaponry of UN forces and I known that M23 has a lot of weapons taken up during the recent Goma fighting so we are worried about the upcoming fighting. It will be more dangerous than the preceding ones and we civilians are the ones to suffer” said Kambale Justin.

For him the problem of rebels operating in DRC is to be handled with peaceful means rather than armed forces.

Mudeyi Dieudonne told Umuseke that M23 is a powerful armed rebel that is heavily armed and has resisted to both FARDC and MONUSCO forces in recent fighting.

“Once they fight it is civilians that will lose lives” said Mudeyi.

Mbungo Evariste said that MONUSCO is the only hope for them.

“We do need no more troubles. We hope UN Special Brigade will be end up that war” Evariste told Umuseke.rw.

This Tuesday MONUSCO Special Brigade released a communiqué to warn M23 to surrender before it strikes over them.

This ultimatum is to end up today around 4:00PM and M 23did not surrender. This brings fears in people’s hearts However life continues as usual.

People talk about M23 while there are other armed groups in the region. Seemingly M23 is the most terrifying one.

Goma were numerous and know that even if the M23 was dismantled the peace will be guaranteed for a lasting time because another armed group will be brought to life.

The Congolese dilemma has brought different regional and international politicians around table to discuss about but still it is getting worst.

Rwanda has been accused to supporting M23 rebels but Kigali vehemently refutes this.
