The Minister of Industry and commerce Francois Kanimba has lauded the efforts provided by the Gafunzo Rice Mill in increasing the quality of its products.
He urged for a increased collaboration between factory workers and farmers as to increase the production.
For him, the lack of the collaboration between factory and farmers is the roots of poor working outcomes that were observed in Kinazi Cassava Plant.
At the other hand, the workers in Gafunzo Rice Mill told the Minister that this collaboration prevails between Gafunzo Rice Mill and it has proven itself helpful in the functioning of the factory.
One of the local farmers called Mukomeza Geredi being the Head of farmers’cooperative COTEMUNYARU said that the factory helps them by all means so that they can produce more and earn more.
Another challenge for the factories that process agriculture based products relates to the availability of limited tools to process agriculture products.
However, Minister Kanimba promised an increased support from the ministry as to help these on-growing industries to be equipped with all means necessary so that they can grow financially.
The Gafunzo Rice Mill is located in Gafunzo cell Mwendo sector in Ruhango district , South Province. During the harvest time, the factory processes over 30 tons of rice a day.
