Dr Besigye, who was on Tuesday addressing his supporters at Kabale Main Stadium after meeting the FDC delegates from Kigezi sub-region, said Ugandans must gain authority to protect their votes from being stolen.

“I will not come back to Kabale crying to tell you how the votes you gave me have been stolen. We know the person that has been stealing our votes and we must surround the thief as a team. We must suffocate him to prevent him from stealing our votes,” Dr Besigye said, before reading out his two phone numbers.

He urged people to send him messages and promised them he will always reply and keep them updated.
He also said every person that receives feedback from him via his mobile phone numbers must reach out to at least 10 people that do not own mobile phones and share the message with them.

“When I was campaigning for Mr Museveni in the 1980 general election, he didn’t have anything. But after the struggle, we went through, he starts claiming that all the money and oil in Uganda belongs to him. We must change this trend,” Dr Besigye said.

The former FDC party national treasurer, Mr Jack Sabiiti, asked the people in Kigezi to vote Dr Besigye in the next general election, saying President Museveni has served his part.
