US: Obama hosts Africa youth including 6 Rwandans

Washington DC – Yesterday evening the US President Barack Obama has hosted the African youth composed of 500 young people who were selected to  attend  different courses in the US universities in the Obama program called YALI( Young African Leaders Initiative). Six Rwandans include Marcel Mutsindashyaka, the Founder and CEO of UM– USEKE IT, owning the www.umuseke.rw.

In his speech, the US President Obama has welcomed those young Africans. The African youth has undergone intensive training linked  to their respective businesses.

Obama urged  the youth to use their knowledge and insights as to accelerate the economic pace Africa and take all business opportunities that are susceptible to make Africans become self-reliant.

President Obama revealed to them  that during the upcoming Summit with 50 African heads of states, he will urge them to further  involve the youth in the social and economic aspects of their nations as to bring upon significant and positive change in the continent.

Ituze Ndutiye Colombe who is the CEO of clothing manufacturing company called Inko-Icyusa pursued courses  of ‘business and entrepreneurship’ courses.

She affirms that she has acquired significant additional knowledge, enabling her to make  her business move forward.

Nadia Hitimana who was learning issues of family planning in the University of  Delaware found that both President Obama and Kagame share same views about self reliance of Africans.

She said that at her return home, she will bring upon changes in  people’s minds regarding the role that people with disabilities can play in their own development and the one of the nation at large.

Nadia urges girls to cultivate a positive mindset about their capacities to perform  the same as their brothers perform as well.

Alongside his Secretary of state John Kelly, President Obama reminded the youth that the fact that they have been chosen to attend this YALI session, proves their intellectual capability as more than 50000 young Africans have submitted for the opportunity but in vain.

In few coming days, these young Africans will meet with US senators, and the US first Lady Michelle, among other high officials.
