Tigo Rwanda launches flat rate to call all networks in Rwanda.

Tigo Rwanda customers are now able call any network in Rwanda for the same affordable flat rate following the launch of the ‘Make the Right Choice” campaign today.

Make the Right Choice campaign to be launched

The cost of calling any mobile network has been lowered from Rwf60/Min to Rwf35/Min, similar to the affordable cost of calls from Tigo to Tigo.

In addition to the new affordable rate, Tigo Rwanda has introduced four voice bundles that will reduce the cost of phone calls to as low as Rwf 10/Min.

Tongai Maramba, Chief Executive Officer, Tigo Rwanda, said: “Lowering our offnet call tariffs gives our customers the freedom to call more, exchange more and transact more. The rates were reduced by more than 40%, allowing customers to affordably communicate with their business partners, friends and family without having to first switch SIM cards or telephones. Tigo Rwanda is committed to encouraging better information and communication exchange in order to support the advancement of our customers around the country.”

Last year Tigo Rwanda announced that it was lowering SMS price for international messaging in the Northern Corridor countries of Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan to support the One Area Network initiative.

The new flat rate tariff announced today is a continued example of Tigo Rwanda’s commitment to ensuring attractive mobile, SMS and data prices for its esteemed customers.

“We want to ensure that Tigo users live and love their Tigo experience. Reducing the calls tariffs is a demonstration of our commitment to this promise”, added Tongai Maramba, Chief Executive Officer, Tigo Rwanda.

The “Make the Right Choice” campaign follows the two month-long promotion dubbed ‘Tigo Bonane Jya mu bandi bamiliyoneri’ that concluded on 2, January. The promotion turned 54 lucky Rwandans into millionaires.

Currently, Tigo Rwanda has over three million customers and has invested over US $310 million from 2009 to date. Tigo Rwanda is the only telecom to provide 4G LTE on mobile for both prepaid and post-paid customers. Tigo Rwanda was awarded as the ‘Most Innovative Service’ at Africa Com 2014, for international mobile money transfers with integrated currency conversion between Tigo Rwanda and Tigo Tanzania as well as awarded for “Best ICT Exhibitor” at the Kigali Expo 2015.
