Some of the builders of Rukarara II were fired unexpectedly

Two hundred workers who built the Rukarara electric power plant told UM– USEKE that they have been fired without being communicated about the action.

The power plant has been inaugurated recently as it is meant to provide additional power supplies to increase consumption and development.

Some of the builders of the power plant claim that they were unexpectedly fired.

One of them called Ndayambaje Felicien said that all of them have been fired without being informed before and given their fees as agreed upon as the contract stipulates.

One employers told us that we are no longer the  workers due to the technical hindrances, he told UM– USEKE.

He denied that the fired workers were lazy or unqualified as if one works poorly, he/she is advised and fired later on after he/she did not change his behaviors.

At his side,  the coordinator of the power plant construction project, Hanci told the Nyamagabe district officials that he paid all the necessary fees to the workers who were fired, adding that all were communicated about the decision earlier.

The workers ask their employers to pay them the remaining fees that  all workers who operated with  a contract is meant to receive.
