Rwanda excels in education without corruption-Transparency

According to a recent research conducted by Transparency International, Rwanda has the best score in a fair and transparent education for all.

Ingabire Marie Immaculee , The Transparency Rwanda, said that despite this high score, there still a corruption oriented behavior of teachers who provide the evening  lessons for children studying for further  advancement.

According to her, there still is a corruption relating to the provision of tender for constructing schools and the purchase of the learning tools, all of these are to be banned

This research has taken place into 27 countries across the globe to understand at which extent corruption undermines education.

In this region, Rwanda and Kenya were assessed  and Kenya is ranking among the the poorly corruption free ones.

Mr Mupinganyi Apollinaire, in charge of education in the Transparency International Rwanda, expressed his appreciation on this rank and hopes Rwandan education will remain among the best performers in eradicating corruption.

Concerning the claims that the categorization of students in ubudehe was corruption oriented, Madame Ingabire Immaculee said that this is a serious issue that the needs more investigation.

“We are committed to investigating  more on these claims and will bring to justice those ones who will be found involved”, she said.

She expressed her worries about the consequences this kind of injustice relating to ubudehe can bear as to hinder students from poor familial background from learning University.

Recently, the Transparency Rwanda with the MP’s Commission against the sexual abuses  published a report on the current state of sexual abuses in school a report that has shown that this kind of corruption still there and undermines education quality.
