President Kagame closes MOD-RDF Retreat

HE Paul Kagame, The President of The Republic of Rwanda and Commander in Chief of Rwanda Defense Forces, on Monday 27 January 2014 presided over the Closing of the two days Ministry of Defence-Rwanda Defence Forces (MOD-RDF) mini Retreat held on 23 and 27 January 2014 at Kimihurura, Kigali.

The mini Retreat was aimed at reviewing the Implementation of the MOD-RDF Retreat decisions held on 19-22 June 2013.

HE The President and Commander in Chief was briefed on the outcomes of the mini Retreat, and Strategies made to make RDF continue fulfilling its Mission, act as a catalyst for fast-tracking Rwanda achieving Middle Income Status and Development as guided by Vision 2020 and EDPRS2.

The RDF’ s role in continued participation in Peacekeeping missions, particularly in Africa were also discussed.

HE The President and Commander in Chief gave his guidance to RDF, on the continued Defense posture as a disciplined Force able to meet the challenges of 21st Century.

The RDF thanked the President and Commander in Chief for always availing time to RDF and in MOD-RDF Retreats, having attended the last retreat on 22 January 2013.
