Our youth will push this country’s development forward-H.E Paul Kagame

This is what H.E Paul Kagame told young people gathered in Serena Hotel when he was addressing the youth on development issues relating to our nation.The theme at the occasion was entitled “Igihango cy’Urungano” whereby young people were sensitized to develop mental abilities to develop themselves and the nation at large.

“When someone sees a basket that is closed he/she becomes curious about what is inside. This is the same as we leaders we are curious to see what is our youth is able to accomplish once well-educated and equipped” President Kagame told the youth.

Janette Kagame, the First Lady, recognized the youth has potential that needs to be exploited. He urged the youth to avoid everything that could eventually endanger our national security.

Encouraging the youth to keep safeguarding the nation from anything that it is not seed divisions among Rwandans. “Never the evil wins the good”, she said,

Some young people present at the event provided witnesses on their experience as they saw their parents committing genocide or becoming accomplices of the killers.

Bamporiki Edouard said that he saw killers killing his teacher. After Genocide he thought he could never see a Tutsi sympathizing with a Hutu.

But he is now convinced that Hutu and Tutsi can live together as close friends at the same hill.

This is an annual decision that brings together both youth from 15 districts and local authorities .The aim of the discussion is to give youth opportunity to exteriorize their wishes and opinions on issues of national interest.
