Lukwago Arrested, Two shot

Police today arrested embattled Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago as he forcefully attempted to leave his home in Wakaliga for Lord Mayor Nomination.

In the arrest scuffle, two people were shot including Enock Kugonza, a journalist working for Delta TV.

Electoral Commission last weekend deferred nominations for the city lord mayor due ongoing debate in the parliament to amend Kampala Capital City Authority Act (KCCA) where by city lord mayor will be elected from the councilors by the council.

Lukwago today morning insisted that he was not informed about postponement of the nominations.
