EAC defenses senior officers in Rwanda to learn on the RDF achievements

This Monday the Army chiefs in the East African Community gathered in Kigali to exchange ideas with RDF senior officers in matters that concern the availability and readiness of infrastructures that will help in implementing joint activities.

The visit aims at assessing different infrastructures that RDF supports or has invested in such as military academies, industrial facilities, among other useful assets.

EAC member states that commissioned its envoys include Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda while Tanzania and Burundi did not send its envoys due to different understandable  reasons.

Col.Francis Mbindi who spoke on behalf of the EAC executive secretary thanked the participants for having attended the event, urging them to fast track the activities so to make the community more secure.

One of the aims of the EAC military meeting held yesterday is to learn from one country to another so that the whole community might have military forces that have facilities useful for the implementation of security policies.

Col Mbindi told media that this annual event that, adding that the yesterday’s event was the second and the last one for this year.

One of the infrastructures that Rwanda Defenses Forces participate into its operations is the Kinyinya Asphalt and Concrete Plant located in Kinyinya sector, Gasabo district.

The plant processes stones into asphalt and concrete small stones that help in the road construction all over the country.

According to the press release from the Ministry of defense, Kenya has different military facilities that involve a military defense school labeled Defense Forces Technical College and it linked to Kenyatta University.

Tanzania has its military school that is called  Tanzania Automotive Technology Centre, among other tools and facilities.

Among the resolutions described in the press release, Burundi is urged to speed up the construction and innovation of its military facilities as to be able to achieve the level at which the rest of African countries has reached.
