New coach Luc Eymael got off to a dream start as Rayon Sport thrashed AS Muhanga 4-2 in Muhanga to leapfrog APR at the top of the table on goal difference after the army drew with AS Kigali 0-0 at Stade de Kigali, Nyamirambo.

AS Kigali were relying on counter attacks but didn’t without threatening the opposition goal.

Both sides come back in second half looking for a win but both failed to find a way passed each others’ well organized defences.

While the game lacked spark, it was left to the APR coach Andreas Spier to take his frustration to the fourth official and central referee Hudu Munyemana obliged to send him off with five minutes of normal time left.

APR thought they had won it with a minute to go but striker Ndahinduka, who also hit the post in trhe first half, somehow wasted a glorious opportunity as goalie Emery Mvuyekure came to AS Kigali’s rescue.

Elsewhere, Etincelles beat visitors Mukura 3-0 at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu thanks to a brace from Yussuf Kayihura and Arafat Bahame.

SC Kiyovu beat hosts Gicumbi 2-0 with goals for Girbert Kanyankore’s team coming from Julius Bakkabulindi Gabriel Zigabe.

Esperance registered their third win of the season with a 1-0 win over Amagaju at Umumena stadium, Musanze drew with Police 0-0, while Espoir beat Marines 1- to maintain fifth spot.

Emmanuel Ruremesha’s in-form side got their win through the veteran striker Said Abed Makasi’s 85th minute goal.
