The Airbus nicknamed Ubumwe is scheduled to land in Kigali as soon as possible as Rwandair officials are in Toulouse, France to take it home as it has proven to be well operational. The purchase of this new airbus will enhance the air transport and trade in Rwanda.
Ubumwe Air bus has number A330 -200 is the first of its kind to be used in Rwanda since its history.
It contains 244 seats including 20 for VIPs, 21 for premium people, and 203 for other passengers.
Rwanda has purchased two planes of this kind in the aim of increasing its international flights and cover wider part of the world in general and the one of Africa particularly.
Its engines are strong enough to let fly longer distance using relative less oil. The engines are of the kind of Rolls Royce Trent 772B.
Independent news reveals that both planes have cost Rwanda not less than $ 500 million.
Currently Rwandair conducts regular flights to African cities such as Nairobi, Entebbe, Mombasa, Bujumbura, Lusaka, Juba, Douala, Dar-es-salaam, Kilimanjaro, Johannesburg, Dubai, Lagos, Libreville, Cotonou, Brazzaville, Cotonou, and Abidjan.
The Rwandan air transport company targets to fly to other cities such as Harare, Mumbai (India) Guangzhou( China) and Europe will follow.
